Mystery of the Mary Celeste Essay Example
Mystery of the Mary Celeste Essay The waves of the Atlantic Ocean rise and fall viciously, raking against the boatââ¬â¢s bottom exterior as the howling wind surges the Dei Gratia ship forward. The Canadian ship sailed through the ocean storms that brought down havoc aboard. But true mayhem broke out on December 4, 1872 when the crew spotted a ship with tattered sails, carelessly gliding over the waters, six hundred miles off the coast of Portugal. With caution, the Dei Gratia prowled its way four hundred yards away from the drifting ship. For two long, gruesome hours, the crew observed the strange vessel, waiting to see if any type of life form would emerge from the deck. The captain sent four brave men on a rowboat to search the distraught vessel after no signal was displayed aboard. And for the next hour, the crew searched everywhere, top to bottom, only to find an empty ship. No captain, no first mate, no family, no crew. There was a foot of water in the gallery that drenched everything below deck, but it wasnà ¢â¬â¢t enough water to endanger the ship or cause it to sink. Six months worth of food were spoiled and soggy from all the water. The beds in the quarters were unmade, unmaintained, and not fit for a captain. The whole ship was a plain mess. In their reports, the Dei Gratia said they found no lifeboat aboard and that the railing had been removed to discharge a small boat off. What happened to the people sailing on the ship? Where are they now? What would have caused them to abandon ship is such a disorganized way? There are so many questions surrounding this strange, abandoned ship. However, one things for certain, the mystery of The Mary Celeste has affected people and the society in many different ways since it was found by the Dei Gratia in the late 1800ââ¬â¢s. With this in mind, the account of the Mary Celeste had an immense response within the society at the time. Yet, how do we know that this is the full story? Look at it rationally, the only people there to ve We will write a custom essay sample on Mystery of the Mary Celeste specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Mystery of the Mary Celeste specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Mystery of the Mary Celeste specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer

Editing English Paper Editing English Paper Editing English PaperAnyone who has gone through the difficulties of writing an English essay is aware of the satisfaction of completion. Once you have finished writing your English paper and have said everything you wanted to say, arrived at the interesting conclusions, analyzed all relevant evidence, organized your ideas logically, and addressed counter-counters, you feel that there is nothing left to do but to run a computer-based spell-checker. Editing English paper can be annoying, confusing, and even boring. However, you cannot avoid this step of English essay writing because the quality and, most important, purity of your English essay depends on lack of mistakes, mistyped words, and errors. Editing English Paper TipsIf you need help with editing English paper, review the following secrets of successful editing: Read your English paper aloud: when you are working on sentences trying to express your ideas, you may lose attention to the larger picture. You need to avoid using unnecessary words, phrases, and sentences. Do not use filler words if you do not know what to include in your English paper, it is better to submit a shorter written paper rather than add rubbish into it.Keep in mind the principle of Rights Words on the Right Places do not try to impress your teacher with long, unclear, and specialized words. Your language should be clear enough to avoid confusion and specific enough to achieve the desired understandingGo directly to point of your English paper. Digital Marketing Campaign for SNOW tires Term Paper
Digital Marketing Campaign for SNOW tires - Term Paper Example This campaign will include a sale of a high number of tires to the market. And the end will be to sell 200,000 tires in North America and Europe in the five winters between 2014 and 2018. This will include creating awareness to consumers in USA, Canada and the European Union and also maintain a 20% sale level in the emerging markets. Sales in these emerging markets will be boosted to 200% of primary market sales after 2018. Online marketing is going to be used as the primary system through which the tires are going to be marketed. Therefore, the plan is to provide online marketing to all the consumers and enter the markets through a unique and distinct system and process. SNOWDRIVE is faced with competition from various levels of competitors. First of all, there is the threat of new entrants which includes companies that can manufacture similar types. This is quite unlikely. Fourthly, there are threats of supplier integration which is quite unreal because SNOWDRIVE are the suppliers. Finally, the threat of competitors in the industry is not really harsh since SNOWDRIVE is innovative in its presentation of this unique winter-type of tires. Political: The policies of the United States and Canada as well as the European Union are relevant and this includes importation and taxation rules as well as Internet disclosure processes and regulations. The liberalization of trade means that promotion could be done from a centralized source and process through which the company can sell and market products. However, important federal and EU relating to the advertising of agencies including respect for local laws must be streamlined. 1. Target customer: The primary customers are young members of these developed economies. This should include the younger sections of society who spend more time online. Secondary customers should be the richer and older users of the Internet who have

International Management Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 1
International Management - Essay Example ers have reported the co existence of contrasting ends of the continuum of the models that have been described in nation like India, Russian, china and others. Culture will be described in this paper by looking at the qualifications of culture development from a multidisciplinary point of view. The typology of antecedents elucidates the likelihood of unpredictability within the nationalized culture and as well elucidates the fact that culture may perhaps not be bound by state boundaries (Triandis 2002b). It became very difficult to explain a complex phenomenon like culture basing arguments on tow layers yet the problem was like an onion model. Basically multifaceted approach was the best way to go. There are tow famous models of explanations to culture (Adler 2002). Trompenaars and Hampde-Turner Model- they also adopt the onion model concept of describing culture. Nonetheless, their model increases the core level of the very basic two encrusted model, to a certain extent than the outer level. In their perspective, culture is comprised of basic assumptions at the centre point. The fundamental assumptions are to some extent comparable to the values in the Hofstede model (Hall 1996). Hofstede Geert- he described culture as a collection of aspect that programs the mind and differentiates the elements of one grouping or class of people from another. He proposed four layers each of which included lower level being a model of a peeled onion, layer after layer. Figure 1 shows how Hofstede indicated the differences between culture, personality and human nature (Hofstede & McCrae 2004). One weakness of the cross-cultural analyses is the failure to go beyond the predisposition to equate culture with the conception of the country. A nation state is a political unit which consists of an independent state populated primarily by inhabitants sharing a universal culture, language/languages and history. Cultures do not have strict borders like nations or states. Its appearance

A Strategy To Reach The Unchurced Essay Example for Free
A Strategy To Reach The Unchurced Essay Jesus commanded us to go and tell. The passage in Matthew 10 gives us words of conviction, instruction, preparation and finally expectation. We need to absorb this and as we do I believe that it will become clear what we are to do. And ways to reach the unchurch is making strategy. There are many church now answering the call to reach the Unchurch but to how to reach it we will find in the next paragraph. Giving Time The strategy of Sunset Presbyterian Church take the time needed to keep their circle of unchurch friends. Feil states, ââ¬Å"I think everyone on our pastoral staff places a high priority on giving our people the time and the freedom to maintain their connections with their workplace, their marketplace, with nonchurched neighbors and friends. That is a high priority for us. They have to keep that circle of influence, that network of friends. We try to communicate clearly that we want to partner with them in reaching those people for Christ. And the primary way we want to partner with them is make our church a place where those people can come. Not just for some special evangelistic event but any Sunday and to any program or ministry. â⬠(Feil, 2001). Start New Ministry The American Missionary Fellowship(2006) develop new ministries in every community possible using our new evangelistic tool, the Learning Community. A Learning Community is an evangelistic effort to bring together unchurched people with common interests in order to study the Bible and to equip lay teachers/leaders. Start New Bible Study Groups The LifeWay Church Resources ( 2005) Churches will be able to accommodate new people and the return of non-attending members primarily by enlarging the tent (Isaiah 54:2-3) of its open groups strategy through the expansion of its Sunday School ministry. These groups and classes usually are designed to target persons who ordinarily do not participate in church; many of these new units become the entry point for unchurched persons into the church and a relationship with Jesus Christ. This training will also help focus on the need and opportunities to start new churches in locations where people are not being reached by existing churches. Reaching people in crisis One factor is certain about the leaders of these churches that reach the unchurched: they are highly creative in their attempts to reach the unchurched. A Baptist church in West Virginia has a hospital ministry to new mothers, an attempt to reach these young families in their positive crisis. A West Coast Evangelical Free Church has reached more unchurched through its crisis pregnancy ministry than any another approach. And a Wesleyan church in the Midwest offers its beautiful sanctuary to prospective newlyweds at a very modest fee but only if they agree to four sessions of premarital counseling. The lesson is clear: the unchurched are more likely to seek a church at a point of crisis. Innovative churches have discovered ways to have a presence in these crisis moments. ( Rainer,Thom S. ) Welcoming Atmosphere Creating a welcoming atmosphere by encouraging everyone, including the pastoral staff, to wear ââ¬Å"stick onâ⬠name tags. They also pass a ââ¬Å"Friendship Registerâ⬠down the aisle each week, allowing members and visitors to sign in. Visitors usually sign-in this way, first, in order to let themselves be known. Visitors are also invited to identify themselves in the public worship services by simply raising their hand so that the ushers can give them a tape and brochure. ââ¬Å"Our regular people know that the reason we are asking people to raise their hands is so they can identify them,â⬠explains Pastor Feil. ââ¬Å"I have had many first time visitors tell me that when they raised their hand three or four people around them said ââ¬Ëhello, Iââ¬â¢m so and so, who are you and welcome, weââ¬â¢re glad you are here, can I answer any questions. ââ¬â¢ So, they have been greeted as a result of that. That has worked for us. â⬠(Barbara Feil. 2001). Reaching the unchurched through quality childcare Parents today want the best for their children, said an independent Baptist pastor from Louisiana. It is amazing how much they care for the spiritual well-being of their children but neglect themselves in this area, he said. We decided to allocate heavy dollar resources into updating our preschool and childrens wing. Boy, has it paid off! Were now reaching many of these young families who have no church background, he exclaimed. ( Rainer,Thom S. ) Reaching through Shepherding and Discipleship Throughout all the ministries the focus is on shepherding and discipleshipââ¬âthe whole culture is aimed at this process. Feil states, ââ¬Å"From the time someone becomes a believer here at Sunset the rest of what we do is aimed at that, to help them grow in their faith. Thatââ¬â¢s what we are concerned about, that everyone grows in his or her faith. So the purpose of every ministry, across the board, is to help disciple people. â⬠(Barbara Feil. 2001). Focus Evangelistic Efforts on Children and Youth The Central Church dont neglect the adults, said a nondenominational church pastor from Minnesota, but we have seven specific ministries a year designed to reach teens and children. More than one-half of the pastors indicated that their churches had specific strategies to reach children and youth, the largest unchurched group in America. ( Rainer,Thom S. )

Home Education Essay -- essays research papers fc
Education is a major concern in our society, and there is good reason for this concern. Many of these problems revolve directly around the public education system and include problems with peer pressure, lack of individual attention from the teachers, problems socializing or ââ¬Å"fitting inâ⬠with other students, and various others. Although there is no real solution to all of these problems, there are many different ways of solving them. Private schools as well as tutors are a great way to give kids the individual attention that they need, however these methods can be very costly. Something that has grown in popularity over the last decade is home schooling. This system has been around for generations; children learn at home while helping their parents out around the house. Many great men including Patrick Henry, John Quincy Adams, and Thomas Edison were schooled at home (Talbot, 2). Home schooling definitely does not solve all the problems that are brought about by educatio n, in fact it brings about its own chain of problems, but it does have a great deal of advantages. Parents are the most important influences in their childââ¬â¢s education next to their teacher. ââ¬Å"â⬠¦research shows conclusively that parentsââ¬â¢ involvement in their childrenââ¬â¢s education confers great benefits, both intellectual and emotional, on their childrenâ⬠(Coleman, 1). This is why it is so important for parents to get involved in their childrenââ¬â¢s lives at an early age. Home schooling is a wonderful way to be involved. One of the main reasons that so many people are attempting to home school their children is because of the freedoms offered by it. These freedoms include religious freedom and the freedom to choose the curriculum for starters. Compared to 1985 in which there were only about 50,000 children home schooling nationwide, there are now anywhere from 1.5 to 1.9 million. Their population is growing by as much as 15-20 percent a year according to Floridaââ¬â¢s annual survey of home schoolers (Talbot, 1). This poses an interesting qu estion. Why is home schooling so much better? It can not be just because of the religious freedoms that the students are allowed. The students are also allowed many more freedoms than regular children are. Home schoolers can choose when they want to do their studies, take a few days off when they want to, go on a field trip, etc. This makes it much more appealing for... ...ood. Home schooling opens many doors for both the parent and the student and will be a great experience if they are willing to put their time and effort into it. Religious Persecution
Religious Persecution Religious persecution is a complex situation in the world. Many countries have this situation. In the country of Whitia, a large group of Whitians is being persecuted for its religious beliefs by a larger religious group. They are not allowed to worship or display their religious beliefs in any way. Theyââ¬â¢re being stoned and imprisoned, and their religious leader has been burned at the stake. It is not easy to solve this problem by its own government. The United States should get involved in this situation. The United States could get involved in this situation by several ways, such as giving food and medicine to the Whitians who are being persecuted, and talking to Whitian government. People in Whitia who are being persecuted need food and medicine. But they canââ¬â¢t get those things from their own government because the larger religious group controls the government. The larger religious group regards them as enemies because of their different religiou s beliefs, so they wonââ¬â¢t give anything to them. A lot of Whitians die by hunger and disease. This situation aggravates theà conflict between the two different religious groups. With the United Statesââ¬â¢ help, food and medicine will save a lot of peopleââ¬â¢s life. Intervention Action is good for reducing the conflict between the two groups. The United States can also talk to the Whitian government about the importance of peopleââ¬â¢s life and freedom. It could make the government realize that everyone should be able to choose their beliefs, and they shouldà stopà the violenceà between the two different religious groups. The Unites States has already helped a lot of countries, such as Jordan, Sudan and Egypt. The help is helpful to solve the religious persecution and have saved a lot of peopleââ¬â¢s life in those countries. Assistance will be effective in Whitia, too. One of my friends, Gavin, has different opinion. He thinks that the UnitedStates should n ot get involved in this situation because of its huge financial cost. What I want to say is that it will actually cost a lot of money to buy the food and medicine, but it is truly worth because the money is to save peopleââ¬â¢s life. Money is made by people. The value of moneyà cannot beà comparedà with theà life. So the United States should get involved in this situation no matter how much money it will cost. Religious persecution in Whitia is a problem which is not easy to solve, and the United States should get involved to help Whitians solve it.
